Every page, in order
Employers and consulates check stamps, previous visas and blank pages, not only the photo page. Scan all pages, including empty ones, in the correct order.
Validity of at least 1.5 years
Work permits are issued for a year or more, and consulates usually require the passport to be valid beyond the visa. If your passport expires in less than 1.5 years, renew it first — it saves months later.
How to make a good scan
- Use a scanner or a phone scanning app, not a photo at an angle
- Good light, no glare on the photo page, all four corners visible
- One PDF file with all pages, or clear images numbered in order
- Do not cut, edit or cover any part of the page
